Why the need for Shared Housing?Housing is a serious issue for the population of Portsmouth, who see a great deal of brownfield build going on around the city. Unfortunately, because of Portsmouth's status more as a brownfield location, this leads city residents feeling that 'any gap in the city is built upon'. As much social housing is required in Portsmouth, housing associations as well as private developers are on occasions perceived as adversaries in relation to the city's development. By producing a positive generic view of the development, it is hoped that Portsmouth's residents will perceive it positively: Seeing it as a valuable new source of general housing for Portsmouth people, and as the 'first rung' housing acquisition opportunity for many. |
